The Livability Tool is an app designed to help local leaders and decision-makers understand which communities are most affected by environmental changes and target help where it’s most needed. This data shows impacts from challenges like extreme storms and flooding events. Unlike other tools, the Livability Tool allows you to cross reference Census data about people, homes, and economics.

What’s the difference between the Livability Tool and the Livability Hub?
The Livability HUB is this website! We’ve written guides to our research and explanations about how it applies to situations on the Shore. You can also find the work we’ve done for the last five years here. The Livability TOOL is an interactive map combining our environmental research and census data. You can select variables and explore the map here.
What’s the timeline on this project?
We started this work in 2021. We continue to build this knowledge hub with the community and will launch the final Livability Tool app in Summer 2026.
